Oleksandr Antonenko is one of the most famous singers of the young generation, who has performed in the best theatres of the world - La Scala, Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera. The first significant success came in 2002, when he won the Paul Sachs Award. Two years later he was awarded the main prize of Latvia – the Latvian Great Music Award. After that Oleksandr conquered a stage after stage: the German Opera of Berlin, the Semperoper Dresden, the German Opera on the Rhine, the Monte Carlo Opera House.

In 2006 he performed in «Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk» at the Latvian National Opera for the first time. In the same year he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera, the Swedish and Norwegian Royal Operas as the Chevalier des Grieux («Manon Lescaut»). In 2008 the singer made his debut at the Salzburg Festival in the leading part of the opera «Othello» by Verdi. He performed the same part at the Rome and Vienna Operas, the Paris Grand Opera, the London Covent Garden, and the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Turiddu in «Cavalleria Rusticana» (the German Opera of Berlin, Monte Carlo, Valencia), Ismaele in «Nabucco» (the Bavarian Opera), Gabriele Adorno in «Simon Boccanegra» (the Frankfurt Opera) are among his parts.

He has recently participated in the performances in La Scala and Arena di Verona ("Tosca", "Turandot"), the Geneva Theatre ("Samson and Delilah"), the Zurich, Paris, Barcelona, ​​Rome Opera Houses ("Aida"), the Metropolitan Opera ("Carmen", "Othello", "Norma"), Covent Garden ("Cavalleria Rusticana", "Pagliacci").
