We are sad to announce that Anatoliy Ivanovych Boyko, People's Artist of Ukraine and an outstanding opera singer, passed away today at the age of 76. Since 1972 - soloist of the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater. For four decades, Anatoly Ivanovich performed all the leading bass parts that the singer can only dream of: Ferrando ("Troubadour"), Boris ("Boris Godunov"), Ivan Khovansky ("Khovanshchina"), Konchak and Halytsky ("Prince Igor"), Aleko ("Aleko"), Salieri ("Mozart and Salieri"), Sobakin ("The Tsar's Bride"), Rene ("Iolanta"), Gremin ("Eugene Onegin"), Thibaut ("Virgin of Orleans"), Mephistopheles (" Faust "), Count Monterone (" Rigoletto "), Peter I (" Peter I "), Father (" Catherine "). Until recently, Anatoliy Ivanovych continued to serve art faithfully, delighting the audience with his brilliant talent. We express our sincere and deep condolences to our relatives and friends! This is a huge loss for the music world and for all of us! The work of Anatoliy Ivanovych Boyko and the bright memory of him will forever remain in our hearts!
