In the clearing next to a cave, the evil witch Gingema is brewing a potion that will help her destroy all life on earth. A sudden hurricane crashes a house onto her head. The witch is dead. Ellie and her dog Little Toto come out of the house. Eventually, they realise they are in a magic land where even animals can talk. Ellie finds red shoes in the Gingema’s cave, and Toto brings local people, the Munchkins to the clearing. Ellie wants to return home to her parents as soon as possible, but how? She sets off following the Yellow Brick Road for Emerald City to ask the Great Wizard Goodwin for help.
On the way, she meets Scarecrow, Iron Lumberjack and Cowardly Lion. Each of them has their own wish for Goodwin. However, Bastinda, Gingema’s sister, finds out about Ellie’s plans. She had long wished to get her hands on those magic shoes. Bastinda sends her flying apes after Ellie. They find our friends on a poppy field and capture them.
It has been a week since Bastinda captured Ellie and her friends. The witch is dreaming of taking the shoes from Ellie and cooks up a cunning plan. Ellie manages to defeat Bastinfa: she splashes some water on her, and the witch melts before her eyes. The friends are free again and can continue their trip to Emerald City. Bizarre things are happening in Goodwin’s palace. They are frightened by a scary voice and monsters. They meet the Great Goodwin, who has never been seen by anyone. He grants the wishes of Scarecrow, Lumberjack and Lion, but he refuses to send Ellie home. Accidentally, Toto exposes the self-proclaimed Great Wizard. He turns out to be a former street artist who came to the Magic Land with a hot air balloon some time ago. Goodwin promises to fix the balloon and help Ellie get home.
At the main square of Emerald City, the people of the magic land are wishing Ellie farewell. Suddenly, a strong wind sends the balloon into the sky, leaving Ellie and Toto on the ground. Now, they have no chance of getting home. Wise Scarecrow recalls the golden hat that can let you summon the flying apes. They appear but cannot grant Ellie’s wish because they are not allowed to leave the magic land. Lion cunningly persuades the monkeys’ leader to come up with a way to send Ellie home. The monkey reveals the secret of Gingema’s shoes. Turns out, the girl could return home any time she wanted, but then, they would never have this magical adventure! Nothing in life happens accidentally. During the trip, Ellie found real friends, and the audience got to experience this new story.

Адже, опинившись на сцені нашого театру, ця казка перетворилася на Музичну історію. Тому всі персонажі тепер вміють не лише розмовляти, а й співати – навіть, маленький Тотошка! Вони познайомлять тебе з творами відомих композиторів. Ми будемо раді, якщо ти захочеш повернутись сюди знову!
